About C2PA Lab

C2PA Lab is a simple, private browser-based tool for checking Content Credentials and understanding C2PA provenance. It helps ordinary people read what a credential says, and helps developers inspect the underlying manifest.

How We Verify Technical Information

We check C2PA concepts and product claims against the official C2PA specifications. For time-sensitive manufacturer support, we consult the manufacturer's current documentation and record a last-verified date in the relevant guide. We do not intentionally publish compatibility or capability claims that the cited source does not support.

Our Privacy Model

File inspection runs in your browser with JavaScript and WebAssembly. The selected media and its parsed C2PA data are not uploaded to C2PA Lab servers for inspection. Site usage is measured with Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4, using only non-sensitive inspection metadata. Recent-inspection records contain the parsed provenance report and a locally generated preview thumbnail, and remain in your browser's IndexedDB until you remove them.

What we claim — and don't

C2PA Lab reports evidence, not verdicts. A verified signature is not a claim that content is true, and missing credentials are not evidence of manipulation or AI generation. The tool never produces authenticity percentages.
